The Buddy System is a platform developed to foster peer-to-peer relationships between local and international students.
Promoted by Campus France as part of the "Welcome to France" label, buddy programmes are being developed on many campuses across Europe.
Created in 2013, the Buddy System is an international matching platform. Since then, more than 100,000 students have signed up, in over 180 European cities and 20 countries.
A tailor-made support offer
ESN France has already helped more than 30 higher education institutions implement the Buddy System to improve the reception of their international students.
Furthermore, ESN France operates within the largest network of international students organisations. In total, there are 88 associations that provide assistance to institutions.
Each new partener is trained by our team in the use of the platform to ensure the best possible conditions of use. In addition, technical support is available to partner institutions to meet their needs

An international platform
The platform is implemented in 20 countries and available in English, French, Spanish and Italian.
Matching using customisable criteria
Buddy Coordinators assist schools in organising the matches. In addition, more than 10,000 pairs are formed each year. What’s more, the platform facilitates the matching process by offering a wide range of adjustable criteria (age, level of study, expectations, hobbies, etc.).
A turnkey platform
The support package includes the implementation of the platform in your institution with step-by-step support as soon as the partnership has been concluded.
Adaptation to different campuses
Each institution operates differently, so the Buddy System is designed to adapt to each situation (universities, separate campuses, remote components, etc.).

In order to promote the project and to let people know that the Buddy System is finally available on your campus, we provide you with all kinds of communication material to print or to publish!
Technical support and training throughout the year
With documentation, distance training by our team but also a toolkit that is accessible from the platform, we strive to make the use of the platform as easy as possible by offering permanent technical support and an intuitive platform for users.
